Ashley Fitz Gerald

Ashley E. Fitz Gerald, MS, CTRS, EMT, is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) with a Master of Science in Recreation and Leisure Studies focusing on Recreation Therapy. Ashley is also pursuing her Master of Social Work degree from Capella University. Ashley brings her eight years of experience in the mental health field, with both inpatient and outpatient clinical roles. Ashley has spent countless hours engaging clients in both individual and group treatment. Ashley has worked with various organizations, including the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. 

In addition to pursuing a Master of Social Work degree, Ashley has worked as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for the past ten years, including three as an educator. Through her experience as an active EMT and her time spent teaching future EMTs, she is equipped with a diverse set of skills to provide comprehensive and compassionate care, regardless of circumstance. 

Ashley has experience working with individuals of all ages. After graduating with her first master’s, Ashley worked with children, adolescents, and young adults with developmental disabilities. As the sole CTRS with the organization, Ashley provided both group and individual treatment to individuals with varying levels of functioning. 

With her strong foundation as a Recreation Therapist, Ashley prides herself on utilizing recreation and leisure activities to meet clients where they are in hopes of engaging them in actively improving their quality of life. Through her experience, Ashley has found the true value of playfulness in establishing rapport in therapeutic relationships.
